Ringwood Town Centre and Market (Wednesdays)

Ringwood has been the historic market town of the New Forest and Avon Valley for centuries and dates back to 1226. The town get its name from the Saxon Rimue Wode, edge of the wood, or from the Doomsday version Rinvede, meaning a ford (vede) over a river (rine).

Walking – Cycling – Wildlife

The New Forest National Park consists of 94,000 acres and has 45 miles of stunning coastline. New Forest ponies, cattle, pigs and donkeys roam freely about the forest. The Park has over 100 miles of wide, gravelled off road cycling paths and hundreds of miles of walking tracks.

The Avon Valley Path and Castleman Trailway both pass close by.

Families

Within 5 minutes from our door you can be in Moors Valley Country Park and Forest with its Play Trail, Tree Top Trail, Go Ape and Junior Go Ape and Forest Segway. You can hire bikes or experience the feeling of steam travel on an authentic narrow-gauge Steam Railway.

Paultons Park Peppa Pig World is just 25 minutes by car.

Snowtrax Skiing and Snowboarding Acitivity Centre and the New Forest Water Park for a wide variety of water sports including Wakeboarding, Inflatable Aquarides, Kayaking and Stand-up Paddleboarding are both within 10 minutes.

Christchurch Harbour for boat hire and the Splashpark or try crabbing at Mudeford Quay both about 15 minutes.

Fishing

Ringwood is situated in the Avon Valley and is renowned for its excellent River Avon fishing and surrounding lake fishing.
